"West Ham will Always Be Special To Me" Harry on WHFTV
Well worth a watch IMO (cant see it mentioned on WHO?).

Interesting insight from Harry, great interview from Ryan as well.

Manager at the time I was first able to actually follow West Ham games with any regularity. So the beginning of the emotional ups and downs. And my then personal favourite player played for us then and was bought by him. Always a special nostalgic place in my heart.

(Lived permeantly in a city for the first time and through the wonders of actual cable TV, West Ham would be on every so often, and I could listen to a lot of games via early internet.)

How very dare you Nagel, he won the Intertoto Cup with us ;-)

He won his only trophy at Portsmouth, and won his only Manager of the Year Award at Spurs, while he won fuck all with us beyond a few backhanders, so it's not that surprising really.

Not saying I dislike Harry and he was chatting about us a lot in that programme, just saying I was a bit surprised given our special place in his heart, we weren't one of the clubs he enjoyed managing the most.

His time at our place gave us some great times.

I've never been a Redknapp hater, so he's a bit of a dodgy geezer, boo hoo, so what. Hardly the only one is he. Football is full of crooks, starting right at the top at FIFA, Loved our time under him.

Re: "West Ham will Always Be Special To Me" Harry on WHFTV
Redknapp had us playing decent football with a mixed bag of a side and I'll always think of him as the manager that brought some of my favourite players to the club.

He was from an era of brown paper bags and dodgy deals.

Since management, where he's no longer required to actually deliver football results, he's become a bit of a caricature of himself with embellished anecdotes and sound bites the order of the day...and the media networks love a rent-a-quote type.

Personally bear him no malice, remember majority of his era somewhat fondly, and always wished he'd got the England job over some others that did...his team's always played decent football.

Redknapp was on that Peter Crouch thing last night and when asked who he enjoyed managing most he said Portsmouth and Spurs.

By the way how friggin cringe and unfunny is Alex Horne?

Mace I noticed that twitching thing, was surprised as I thought Harry twitched because of nerve damage or something as a result of that coach crash. Turns out it's a genetic sign of a guilty conscience :-)

I like Harry, wouldn't have trusted him with my mortgage but great character and proven good manager.
Had a pint with him in Dublin once and great company, he really does have a place in his heart for West Ham

Yeh, ol’Harry Krishna always had/got the pound note signs in his minces. He’d do well with the 3 stooges. Bullshitting, the lot.

I really don’t get how the Redknapps get so much air time. Snr is a money grabbing cunt but everyone seems to be happy to feed him more. Jnr I guess for his poster boy looks and his old man double act but even he’s started twitching and looking a gormless prick now

His doggy dealings in the transfer market , his back handlers from Brown his constant criticism of the club for not helping Bobby Moore out when he was in a position to do just that , Redknapp will do anything for money the mans lower than a snakes bollocks. Strange how you never see him with his old team mates. I wonder why.

Definitely well worth a watch, very enjoyable and interesting.

Some funny moments, Paolo complaining about the behaviour of Razor Ruddock. And moving moments, how Harry valued the supporters and treated them as important perhaps as the players.

Shame we got rid of Harry. I supported that move at the time as I thought we could get a better manager and really improve. What a regret when Roader came in, such a sad mistake in our history.

"To come fifth at a time when the top three at least were nailed on every year was remarkable."

Eh? The fact that only the top 3 were nailed on makes it completely unremarkable. We finished that year on 57 points, 18 points away from the top 3 and 10 points from 4th.

By comparison look at these points figures for managers in their 1st full PL seasons with us, and for at least the latest two during a time when top 6 was "nailed on":

Roeder: 53
Pardew: 55 (plus FA cup final)
Bilic: 62
Moyes: 65

"Big issue was that we went for the super cheap option when we replaced him"

Let's not forget that Roeder was only 4 points behind Redkapp's best ever points total in his first season, and that we were relegated the following year with exactly the same number of points as in Redknapp's final season.

No West Ham manager has managed a higher league position than Harry since 86.

To come fifth at a time when the top three at least were nailed on every year was remarkable. He did a lot of good for us. He also did a lot of shit

Big issue was that we went for the super cheap option when we replaced him
